Dr. Mike Sorensen, DC: Chiropractor

Dr. Sorensen spent about 10 years as a massage therapist before he became a chiropractor. That’s where he saw how much people can heal with hands-on care, and it’s still at the center of how he works. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from Western States Chiropractic College (now University of Western States) and uses Diversified, Activator, and gentle mobilization techniques, always within what you’re comfortable with. If you’ve tried other chiropractors and still aren’t better, he’s glad to take a fresh look.

Dr. Katie Mercer, ND: Naturopathic Doctor & Integrative Primary Care

Dr. Mercer was a teacher before she became a naturopathic doctor, and it shows. She’ll explain what’s going on and lay out your options so you can decide what’s right for you. Many of her patients come to her after being told their results are normal or that it’s “just stress.” She listens, takes your symptoms seriously, and looks for the root cause, blending functional and integrative medicine with conventional care like lab work, imaging, and prescriptions. She trained at the National College of Natural Medicine (now National University of Natural Medicine) and has been practicing for about 17 years.

How often should I see a chiropractor?

As often as your body needs, and no more. We don’t sell packages or set a visit count up front. Dr. Sorensen will give you exercises and tools to use at home, and you come in when you need to.

What happens at my first visit?

We’ll talk through what’s going on, do an exam, and for most chiropractic patients, start treatment that same day. A first naturopathic visit with Dr. Mercer is about an hour and includes a full health history and exam.

Can a naturopathic doctor prescribe medication in Oregon?

Yes. Naturopathic doctors in Oregon are licensed to prescribe, and Dr. Mercer can order labs and imaging too. That means she can recommend natural options and conventional ones, and help you choose what makes sense for you.
